The Schoffit Alsace Riesling 2021 “Tradition” is a dry white wine made exclusively from Riesling grapes. These grapes are sourced from the Harth vineyard, a lieu-dit near the town of Colmar in the Alsace region of France. The Harth vineyard is known for its gravelly soils covered by a thin layer of sandy loess, contributing to the uniqueness of its terroir.
Regarding the winemaking process, the grapes are fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks for 11 months before bottling in August of the year following the harvest. This method preserves the freshness and purity of the fruit, resulting in a wine with vibrant acidity and a clear expression of the Riesling varietal.
The wine offers intense aromas of citrus and stone fruits, complemented by subtle floral and mineral notes. On the palate, it is fresh and well-balanced, with lively acidity providing a refreshing sensation and a long-lasting finish. This Riesling is a true representation of the traditional Alsace style, reflecting both the typical characteristics of the grape variety and the distinctiveness of the Harth vineyard.
