Muruve Crianza Toro 2019
Muruve Crianza Toro 2019
Muruve Crianza 2019 is a red wine made with 100% Tinta de Toro by the Frutos Villar wineries in the DO Toro. The history of this winery dates back to 1920, long before the Denominations of Origin emerged in Spain, when the first winery was established in Toro. Following an ideal of innovation and progress, in 1960 a second winery was founded in Cigales. With the consolidation of the demarcated regions, the Frutos Villar family acquired Bodegas Santa Eulalia in 1988, located in the Ribera del Duero region. Currently, Bodegas Frutos Villar continues to produce excellent wines in its own vineyards, even outside the Designations of Origin.
The fermentation of this wine is carried out in a traditional way in stainless steel tanks, with 100% destemmed grapes and pumping over three times a day, at a controlled temperature of 28-30ºC for 12-15 days. Subsequently, the wine is devatted and allowed to settle before being transferred to the barrels.
The wine ages in barrels for 8 to 12 months, with racking every 3 months, and undergoes a minimum of 6 months of aging in the bottle before being marketed. The barrels, composed of 95% American oak and 5% French oak, are kept in an insulated warehouse where the temperature does not exceed 18ºC.
