Gavalas Vilana 2021

Smells like a fresh island breeze! Third generation grower/producer. First vines planted back in 1906, all vineyards organic since 2002. 100% Vilana from the Greek island of Crete. This rare grape indigenous to the island comes from an organically farmed, single estate-owned vineyard. The vineyard lies 350m above sea level, and the clay-based soil rich in minerals and even fossilized sea shells. Fermented and aged in stainless steel. Pale golden color, a mix of botanics and faint floral muscat aroma which opens to a more fruity spicy spectrum. Viscous richness with an invigorating lemony thread on a well-rounded bone dry palate.
